England Flag's History

The England’s Flag is the St George's Cross, which was adopted as the patron saint of England in the thirteenth century.  The red cross appeared as an emblem of England in the Middle Ages, specifically during the Crusades (although the original symbol used to represent English crusaders was a white cross on a red background) and it is one of the earliest known emblems representing England. It also represents the official arms of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, and it achieved status as the national flag of England during the sixteenth century. 

The United Kingdom of Great Britain uses as its national flag the royal banner known as the Union Flag. The last design of this flag was done in 1801 because of the union of Ireland and Great Britain, and that's the reason why the flag is designed as we know: there is a red cross of Saint George (patron saint of England), in a white background; under that there is theSaltire of Saint Andrew (patron saint of Scotland), in a blue background, with  the Cross of St Patrick (patron saint of Ireland).

          La bandera de España, uno de los símbolos oficiales de España, junto con las armas de España, se adoptó el 5 de octubre de 1981 con la aprobación de la ley que estableció la última versión del Escudo Nacional. Ella es conocida por el puebo cómo rojigualda (roxo - vermelho e gualda amarelo).
